Time: 20 minutes
Feeds: 2 people
Ingredients:
- Packet of au jus gravy
- 2 hoagie rolls
- 1 7oz container of deli sliced roast beef (can use 2 containers if you want bigger sandwiches)
- 2-4 slices of white cheddar cheese
Directions: Prepare the au jus according to package directions. Once it’s prepped and ready, you can start the rest of the components. Line a quarter sheet pan with foil and preheat the broiler on high. Place two hoagie rolls on the sheet tray and prepare the meat. Add the roast beef to the hot au jus to warm through. Remove from the au jus into the container it was packaged in to let some of the extra au jus drain off so the rolls don’t get too soggy. Divide the meat onto the two rolls and top with the white cheddar cheese. Sometimes we’ll do two slices per sandwich or we’ll split just one piece per sandwich in half and arrange it so it fits well on the sandwich.
Place the sandwiches under the broiler and keep a close eye on them. You’ll want the cheese to be fully melted and the top bun to be getting a little bit of color. Serve the sandwiches with the au jus on the side for dipping and with fruit or chips on the side if desired.
